Dynamic Design Review

About

Dynamic Design Review is for curious readers who want to understand why designed things look and work as they do. We cover visual communication, products, interiors, buildings and design history, with attention to the choices that make a difference.

What we look at

Our subject is design as it meets daily life: a page’s hierarchy, an object’s form, a room’s arrangement, a building’s entrance or an idea’s changing visual language. We explain the details without assuming specialist knowledge.

Who it is for

You do not need to work in design to read us. The publication is for anyone who encounters designed things and wants a clearer vocabulary for noticing, comparing and discussing them.

How we approach it

We favour specific questions and careful explanations over grand claims. We distinguish observation from interpretation, give context where it helps, and make room for more than one reasonable reading.

Our point of view

Design is a way of seeing

Look beyond the finish to notice what a design asks, enables and leaves out. Small details often carry the clearest ideas.
